Passport renewals.. as it is. I would need to french visa to go across to anguilla from the french side of st maarten. However..My Canadian Passport works just fine. But it has expired.
Now when I was returning from canada, all the authorities were alerting me to the fact that my passport was expiring a few days after. This I already knew and had all intentions of renewing as soon as possible. But things happen and you get caught up.. Now that travel time is approaching and it take 15 working days to get back yuh passport, I now need to step up the pace.
Since Monday I trying to sort out this damn thing. With canadian passports it is way too much drama and to make it work, is every 5 years I have to do this.
I downloaded the form and started to fill it out, Got my passport pics, birth certificate and opening hours and so forth online.Problem started with trying to find a damn guarantor. Unlike trinidad passports, is not everybody.. no.. they get specific. Policemen, judges, doctors, dentists, lawyers, magistrates, notaries, signing officers at banks. Of which apparently I know none. It took me three days to even get a possible. One of the peeps from Min of Nat security came through the office and said he'd get it done for me. He said his sargeant would sign.. wonderful! that was about 11:30 yesterday. He came back with my documents about 1pm.. Great! Back of the picture signed and dated and the form.. filled out.. but no signature. DAMMIT! Now the thing is, my mummy end up lining up with an aquaintance of hers to sign for me eh. I could have done it yesterday and gotten it over with. but apparently I wanted to do my own thing. I now had to go back to the Sargeant to get him to sign. That involved leaving the office. I took a run away that lasted 45 mins.. I never knew there was so much procedure to enter a damn building. Finally got up to see him and he puts a signature that spreads throughout the signature border. And then I see the note, any signature outside of the border would render the document null and void. Right. But I still decide that I would risk it and go to the High Commission anyway. It was empty.. so I walk right on up and hand her the documents, she opens it and tells me "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until 12pm." Huh? I looked at my watch. It was already 2:40pm. I said thank you and moved along. Still holding meh documents and meh sanity. I guess its best I just do over the form.
